A future in film.

The other evening at the dove hunt camp, the gnats flew in to greet us in droves. And, while they weren't bothersome in a biting and itching sense, they were ... bothersome. So, to keep his mind off the buzzing and tickling, I handed The Short One the camera and said, "Here ... go shoot something." And he has amazed me before w/ his "eye." It's kinda cool how he cuts things off and knows to get close, rather than trying to back up and fit the entire object in the frame.

And in case you think our "camp" was some place picturesque ... think again.

Yessiree, that right there is a junk yard. But, WAIT!! Even better than dove hunting in a junk yard is that the guy who is the proud owner of the yard and all the junk in it is ... named ... Mad Dog. He might have a real name. But we don't know it. And we kinda prefer Mad Dog. We are so redneck that way.

I like this shot of The Tall One. The sole of his boot came unstitched in mid-run toward a flock of birds. He told us when he heard the "flap flap" of the loose boot bottom, he thought someone was chasing him. Oooo weee, we laughed.

You see ... he's got a real knack for junk shots. He even knows how to turn off the flash so as not to get a blinding shot of metal. The picture taken INTO the Lay's Original potato chip bag didn't turn out so well. We'll work on chip shots.

That blue "house boat" in the background had the biggest wasp nest I've ever seen hanging onto it. The boys tried to shoot it off w/ their BB guns, but when that failed Grandpa got his handy can of poison out of the truck. You can always count on Grandpa. It'll shoot 20 ft. or more. Gives you time to run. He kills house flies with the stuff. And geckos. OH! Don't get him started on geckos.

All photos by that Short little shadow.

Ah. Sunset over Mad Dog's junk yard. I think I'll market a set of Junk Yard greeting cards. And give them to my brothers-in-law for Christmas. Just kiddddding, guys!! Love ya!
