Say it isn't so ...

Sadly, this which was our winter wonderland for a good chunk of the week is quickly turning to mud and slush and giant drips that pelt us as we run for the car. Better to take a drop to the top of the head, I suppose, than any of the foot-long icicles that still dangle from the eaves.

The alarm clock woke us for school for the first time in three days.

Our car was coated in ice at 8:30 this morning, but by the time pre-school was over at 1, the 1/4 inch coating had melted and the car was dry.

It's sad, in a way, to see things returning to normal -- granted, it will be easier to run to the store for milk and bread AND to dress both boys for the outdoors, but the complete transformation of our days from "scheduled," to completely unplanned and "up in the (ice-cold) air," was lovely.

Seems a child always longs for it to "snow at my house, Mommy," so for kiddoes who have seen very little snow and ice in their backyard, it's magical for them and for me.

Not to mention, I'm into a darned good book that I'll have to put down for now ...
