3. I despise, therefore I collect, the sappy, dramatic, sing-songy, often alliterative editorial headers given to major events on newscasts, primarily cable newscasts.
4. A lot.
A few poor examples from my tired and very August-hot brain just so I can get to my point:
"Road to the White House," "Death of a President," any title given a hurricane and its ensuing "aftermath" and on and on. Oh, there are a jillion for the war. And the above aren't even good ones. No rhymes. No alliteration.
There was an awful tragedy in MN and several people died and so many were thankfully spared, but that's another post. Now, according to many of our national news outlets our nation's infrastructure is Chicken-Little-like crumbling beneath our very feet.
Last nite's header on MSNBC ... "Road to Ruin."
