You will be horrified to learn that I sent The Short One to school in pants that hurt. Socks that don't do right. On a road that's too flat. To a school that's too long. In weather too cold. With hair that is "sticky" up. And a backpack that is too light. And his toothbrush is out of batteries.
The Big One has a pointy finger that stings. A backpack that is too heavy. With a strap that is too long. Pants that make too much noise. Hair that is too poofy and won't lay down right. And shoes that won't untie. And we ran out of bacon.
Today is Monday. We'll take baby steps thru this day. And Tuesday will be better.
Today I count my blessings and sip my coffee. THAT is a cup that always overflows.

Woe to be one of our children. The pain must be truly unbearable. No Bailey's in that cup?
