Better than Vanilla Coke. Better than Reese's Peanut Butter Cups. Better than appliance repair people who give same day service.
What can POSSIBLY achieve that level of satisfaction?
Shoe shopping. SHOE SHOPPING w/ one willing son of mine. The one who's never really cared too much how he's shod. And certainly not how he's CLOTHED. Collared shirts and "church pants" be damned!
He's got his favorite basic boy shoes, but it's his dad who usually assists the boys w/ footwear purchases. This since The Big One was 18 months old and they came home w/ a DARLING pair of suede mocs for our little darling that cost WAAAY more than I had ever spent on shoes ... until I bought boots.
And The Big One's footwear collection really only consists of a couple pair of athletic shoes and flip flops. He WON'T wear sandals.
For the past couple of years THESE have been on his wish list. So, we did our online research, decided against designing our own pair, and found a good-looking pair WITHOUT skulls and crossbones.
Then, while in the mall, he asked me if Hollister was open for business yet. What's THIS? MY child interested in fashion? WILLINGLY and enthuisastically embracing a LOOK? This should scare me. The thought of pricey tee's and suggestive advertising should have me herding him into the nearest Gymboree.
But, no. This thrills his mother. I am unabashedly proud and just may shed a tear at this development.
The future holds such shopping promise.
